Who we are

The Geelong Folk Music Club Inc is a not-for-profit community group that supports and encourages participation in music, dance and poetry in contemporary and traditional forms.

What we do

The club meets on the first Wednesday of each month (except January) for a Session, Showcase of local artists or a Concert.

At sessions, members and visitors are encouraged to lead a song or a tune in an informal environment - often a song circle and always unamplified.

A Showcase of local artists is a concert featuring artists from Geelong and surrounds. The setting is more formal, will be amplified and an entrance fee will be charge for both members and guests.

Generally, the club meets at the Naval Association Club Rooms, 90 Skene Street, Newtown 3220. Occasionally the club may present a concert at another venue.

Announcing the Geelong Folk Festival 2026

After a hiatus of more than 30 years the Geelong Folk Music Club are pleased to announce that Geelong will once again host a Folk Festival.

The festival will be held on Sunday 6th September 2026 at the Geelong West Town Hall. Some of the best folk artists in Australia will present a day of traditional and contemporary music from aorund the world in a program that will please everyone.

Membership renews each year on 30 September. If you join in August or September, your membership will be valid until 30 September of the following year at no additional cost.
